The Apprentice Program places senior, intermediate and junior choristers with younger choirs as peer mentors and teachers. They are an incredibly important part of building our community and culture, and making our programs fun, inclusive and educational. 

An integral part of the artistic and caregiving teams, apprentices work with choristers every week helping to deliver literacy lessons, run small group activities, practice music with choristers, and mentor their groups through all their learning.  Apprentices develop their leadership skills, learn to teach and mentor younger students, and increase their own confidence and musical skills. Many apprentices go on to leadership positions after they graduate, and during their time in choir are inspirational role models for younger singers. Apprentices are dedicated, empathetic, and enjoy mentoring and leading younger singers. 

Apprentices receive a credit towards their choir fees. To apply as an apprentice, email conductor@cantamara.ca.
